In Memoriam Susan L. Sills

American Friends of POLIN Museum mourns the passing of Susan L. Sills, a cherished friend and dedicated supporter of POLIN Museum, who died on April 25, 2025. She was an accomplished artist, with works in museum collections in both the United States and Japan.

The Sills Family Foundation has generously supported numerous POLIN Museum initiatives, including temporary exhibitions such as "Gdynia – Tel-Aviv" and "Estranged. March '68 and Its Aftermath," and a program aimed at combating antisemitism.

Despite the geographic distance between Warsaw and New York, Susan’s warmth and support were profoundly felt by the museum. Zygmunt Stępiński, Director of POLIN Museum, and Piotr Wiślicki, President of the Association of the Jewish Historical Institute of Poland, fondly remembered a dinner with Marian Turski at the Sills' beautiful home. She was a true friend of POLIN Museum.
