“Thou Shalt Not Be Indifferent." – Marian Turski
It is with these words that Marian Turski, in his speech at the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau on January 27, 2020, issued his call to action. Fight discrimination and alleviate suffering.
The Marian Turski “Thou Shalt Not Be Indifferent” Fund has been created in collaboration with his family and the Association of the Jewish Historical Institute of Poland to continue the lifelong mission of Marian Turski to fight antisemitism, hate of all kinds, and indifference.

ABOUT MARIAN TURSKI
Marian Turski (1926-2025), a historian, journalist, and activist, devoted his life to preserving the memory of the Holocaust and fighting antisemitism and hate of all kinds. He survived the Łódź Ghetto, Auschwitz, and two death marches, first to Buchenwald and then to Terezin, where he was finally liberated in 1945. He was 19 years old. He has been honored for his humanitarian efforts by the governments of Poland, Germany, France, Luxembourg, Lithuania, and Austria.
ABOUT THE FUND
The Fund, established as an endowment, will support initiatives that address exclusion and discrimination, especially antisemitism and xenophobia.
The first grant will be announced on the occasion of Marian Turski’s 100th birthday in June 2026.
