First Lady of Poland Agatha Kornhauser-Duda and Cheryl Fishbein, Chair of the Jewish Community Relations Council visit POLIN Museum

The POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews had the honor of welcoming a visit on June 27, 2023, from the First Lady of Poland Agatha Kornhauser-Duda, Cheryl Fishbein, Chair of the Jewish Community Relations Council in New York, and her husband Philip Schatten. They visited the exhibition "Around Us a Sea of Fire: The Fate of Jewish Civilians During the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising" and the Legacy Gallery.  They were greeted by the Director of the Museum, Zygmunt Stępiński, and Joanna Fikus, Head of the Exhibitions Department.

Agata Kornhauser-Duda and Cheryl Fishbein signed POLIN Museum's guest book.

I remain very impressed by this very evocative and moving exhibition. I thank the organizers for allowing the Jewish civilians – silent heroes of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising – their rightful place in history.

— Agata Kornhauser-Duda, First Lady of Poland

Right now, to fight indifference is to stand up against evil – today it is the protection of Ukraine. Tomorrow – unclear. But we must be ready to find aggression – and fight it.

— Cheryl Fishbein, Chair of the Board, Jewish Community Relations Council of New York
