In Memoriam Nimrod S. Ariav

POLIN Museum mourns the loss of Nimrod S. Ariav, Distinguished Benefactor and dear friend, who passed away on August 3 in Israel.

Nimrod S. Ariav was born on 24 September 1926 in Lublin, as Szolem Cygielman, to Marta and Lejb Cygielman. He cared deeply about Bełżyce, his family’s hometown, and was active in commemorating the town’s Jewish past.

He fought in the Warsaw Uprising and for the independence of Israel.

Thanks to Nimrod's support, POLIN Museum was able to carry out educational programs and support the work of local activists dedicated to the Jewish past of their hometowns.

May his memory be for a blessing.
